Top 10 “positive energy” events


Top 1: The goal of China’s textile power has been basically achieved.
Gao Yong, secretary of the Party Committee and secretary-general of China National Textile and Apparel Council, pointed out at the 2019 National Chemical Fiber Filament Fabric Product Development Annual Meeting: China’s textile industry has been in a low-growth stage for 3 to 4 years. In 2018, the main business income of the whole industry was 5,371 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth slightly higher than 5%. Compared with the national economy, which is in the middle and high-speed growth stage of about 6%, the main business income, value added and exports of the textile industry are at a low growth level. Although the textile industry has entered a stage of low-speed growth, all employees in the textile industry have fully realized that low-speed growth will be a normal state and accelerate the pace of industrial adjustment accordingly. According to the “Outline of Building a Textile Power” and the “Thirteenth Five-Year Plan”, it is planned to basically build a textile power by 2020. Gao Yong pointed out: From the perspective of specific indicators, with the exception of individual indicators that are slightly behind the world’s advanced level, the vast majority of indicators have approached or even advanced the world’s advanced level, and the goal of a “textile power” has been basically achieved.




Top 2: National Day military parade attracts much attention, and many textile companies demonstrate national prestige with strength.
On October 1st, the general assembly celebrating the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China was grandly held in Tian’anmen Square. In the celebration, the teachers and students team of Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology completed a total of 306 costumes of 36 mass parade formations, as well as the costume design of militia formations, volunteers and choirs during the parade; China General Technology and China Textile Academy Zhejiang Branch cooperated with Hangzhou Yazheng Textile Co., Ltd. to provide clothing for the 6 mass formations and 2 choral parties of the celebration. During the mass parade, the “most beautiful” red scarf worn by young pioneers came from Semir. Chinese textile companies accept the inspection of the motherland in their own way.
 
Top 3: General Secretary Xi Jinping cordially encourages Zhao Mengtao’s team, and the spirit of Mengtao is passed on from generation to generation.
Before the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, all members of the Zhao Mengtao team of Xianyang Textile Group Co. Ltd. wrote a letter to General Secretary Xi Jinping to report on the development process of Zhao Mengtao’s team and their achievements in recent years. Top 4: Two textile projects won the second prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award in 2018
On January 8th, the CPC Central Committee and the State Council held the National Science and Technology Award Conference in Beijing. The 2018 National Science and Technology Award was announced at the conference, and a total of 285 projects (candidates) were selected. Among them, the textile industry’s “integrated technology for the efficient recycling of waste polyester and industrialization of fiber preparation” and “high-performance special woven fabric knitting technology and equipment and their industrialization” won the second prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award. The National Science and Technology Award, as the highest honor of the national science and technology award, aims to commend the scientific and technological workers who have made major breakthroughs in the frontier of contemporary science and technology or have made outstanding achievements in the development of science and technology, and created huge economic or social benefits in the innovation of science and technology, the transformation of scientific and technological achievements and the industrialization of high technology, and the textile industry is involved almost every year. This not only shows the industry’s innovative vitality, but also reflects the new positioning of scientific and technological textiles.
 
Top 5: The results of the selection of academicians of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering are announced, and 2 academicians are newly added in the textile field.
On November 22nd, the highly anticipated results of the 2019 Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering co-opted members were announced. In the field of textiles, Zhu Meifang, the dean of the School of Materials Science and Engineering of Donghua University and the director of the State Key Laboratory of Fiber Material Modification, was elected an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences; Chen Wenxing, the president and deputy secretary of the Party Committee of Zhejiang Sci-Tech University, was elected an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.
 
Zhu Meifang has long been engaged in the functionalization, comfort, and intelligent research of fiber materials, and has achieved systematic and innovative results. She proposed and established the functional design ideas and full-process functional technology system of thermoplastic polymer fibers, solved the problem of both functional and comfort of synthetic fibers, and created a new method for mesoscopic induction of intelligent fibers, and promoted China significant progress in fiber quality from low to high.
 
Chen Wenxing has been engaged in the research of textile fiber materials. By undertaking national key R & D projects and national 973 preliminary projects, etc., Chen Wenxing led the team to innovate the melt polycondensation method, invented the high-performance liquid viscosity increasing reactor and independently developed the complete set of polymerization equipment, established quality control standards. Relevant achievements have been transformed and industrialized in enterprises. For the first time in the world, large-scale industrial production of direct spinning polyester industrial yarn has been successfully achieved. This technology has reached the international leading level.
 
Top 6: “Revolution in Clothing” triggered a strong response, the new positioning of the industry was effectively spread.
The “Revolution in Clothing” series feature film produced by China National Textile and Apparel Council and CCTV was broadcast on the CCTV4 “Across China” at the end of July and early August 2019, and received positive comments from all walks of life. The “Revolution in Dress” series has clearly shows the changes in clothing of the Chinese people in the past 70 years in the form of 5 episodes of “Crossing Space and Time”, “Putting on New Technology”, “Fashion Weathervane”, “Green New Fashion”, and “Wear China Fashion”, and through the changes of clothing, it can see the changes of industry. The feature film not only shows the development history and great changes of China’s clothing industry to a wide audience, but also speaks for the industry from multiple perspectives, awakening all sectors of society to re-position and value perception of the textile and clothing industry, so as to match more for the textile and clothing industry high-quality social resources, support the textile and apparel industry to lead global development.
 
Top 7: Remarkable results in poverty reduction in the textile industry.
2019 is a crucial year for a successful fight against poverty. In the process of increasing structural adjustment and industrial transfer, the textile industry has given full play to the advantages of industrial poverty alleviation, and some developed areas in eastern textile and clothing provide intellectual output and technical training to help poor areas develop textile and apparel industries in accordance with local conditions, and promote poverty alleviation, rural rejuvenation, and economic development in the central and western regions. For example, the textile industry in Sichuan has gradually formed a basic pattern of “continuously increasing industrial scale, improving industrial system, gradually increasing industrial agglomeration, more obvious advantages, and continuously improving innovation capabilities.” Nanchong is seizing the “Belt and Road” strategic opportunity, giving full play to the role of bonds, vigorously cultivating the silk spinning clothing industry as a 100 billion cluster, constantly optimizing the development environment, and building a new pattern of open development. Xinjiang Yining County Textile Industry Zone is the ninth batch of key aid projects in Nantong to support Yining County. At present, the park has completed the investment of nearly 2 billion yuan, constructing various workshops and supporting facilities of nearly 450,000 square meters, settling in 10 enterprises, providing more than 4,500 jobs, and becoming a new engine that drives local economic development and the prosperity of the people.
 
Top 8: The 3rd China Textile Intangible Cultural Heritage Conference was selected as the 2019 “Top Ten Annual Events of China’s Intangible Cultural Heritage”.
On November 3rd, the theme conference of the Third China Textile Intangible Cultural Heritage Conference was held in Kunming College, Yunnan. 12 ambassadors for the promotion of the inaugural China Textile Intangible Cultural Heritage in the 3rd “Capital Group Cup” 2019, and the solicitation of cultural and creative souvenir designs for the 3rd China Textile Intangible Cultural Heritage Conference, and the micro film selection activities of “intangible cultural heritage and I” were announced one after another. Under the guidance of the Intangible Cultural Heritage Department of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the 2019 “China’s intangible cultural heritage annual figure” and the announcement ceremony of the top ten annual events of China’s intangible cultural heritage hosted by Guangming Daily and GMW.cn were held in Beijing. The 3rd China Textile Intangible Cultural Heritage Conference was successfully held and won the 2019 “Top Ten Annual Events of China’s Intangible Cultural Heritage”.
 
Top 9: “Hengli” and “Weiqiao” are both selected in the 2019 Top 500 World Brands.
On December 11th, the World Brand Lab released the 2019 (sixteenth) World Top 500 Brands list, and “Hengli” brand ranked 415th, ranking first in the textile industry, becoming the only domestic private petrochemical industry shortlisted brands; Weiqiao Pioneering Group ranked on the list for the first time, ranking 470th.
 
The ranking of the world’s top 500 brands is based on the brand ‘s world influence, that is, the ability of a brand to develop the market, occupy the market, and obtain profits as a basis for judgment, with market share, brand loyalty and global leadership as key indicators. The World Brand Lab has comprehensively scored 8,000 well-known brands worldwide in 2019, and a total of 29 countries have been selected. In terms of quantity, 2019’s list has 208 American brands on the list, ranking first; the United Kingdom, France, and Japan were selected as 44, 43, and 42 respectively. China has 40 brands on the list.
 
Top 10: in 2019, there are three enterprises in the textile industry ushering in their centennial birthday, which is not a dream.
2019 is the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. The textile industry is a key industry that has begun to develop since the founding of the People’s Republic of China. 70 years of development have been remarkable. In 2019, three companies have celebrated their 100th birthday. They are: Wuxi No.1 Cotton Mill Textile Group, Snow Lotus Group and Yudahua Group. Snow Lotus is the originator of the new China cashmere apparel brand and the initiator of the Chinese cashmere industry; Yudahua is the only state-owned textile and apparel company in Wuhan and a pioneer in the intelligent exploration of Chinese cotton textile enterprises. In June 2019, Yudahua’s project “Key Technology Innovation and Application of Intelligent Spinning Based on Unattended at Nights” passed the appraisal of CNTAC, and was found to be mature in technology, stable in production, and the overall technology reached the international advanced level. The construction and implementation of the project makes it possible to be “unattended at night”. Wuxi No.1 Cotton Mill Textile Group is a leading cotton spinning company, and its products have always been significantly competitive in the high-end market. In recent years, it has been an example of going global along the “Belt and Road”.
 





Science and Technology
 
1. The gold content of the 2019 China National Textile and Apparel Council Science and Technology Award of “Textile Vision” has been increased, and for the first time, the Technology Invention Award has been added, and the reward system has been gradually improved.
In order to better adapt to the new situation of the national science and technology system and the reform of science and technology awards, encourage original and disruptive technologies, give play to the leading role of science and technology innovation, further improve the quality level of textile technology awards, and build the brand of textile technology awards, the 2019 Textile Science and Technology Award has been greatly adjusted and further improved the award structure. The first is the addition of Technological Invention Award (first and second prizes); the second is to include “Sangma Scholar” in the selection of China National Textile and Apparel Council Science and Technology Award and renamed the Special Contribution Award (Sangma Scholar); the third is the three levels of Science and Technology Progress Award were adjusted to the first and second prizes. At this point, the Science and Technology Award of the China Textile Industry Federation has formed a reward system for the Technology Invention Award, the Science and Technology Progress Award, and the Special Contribution Award (Sangma Scholar).
 
On December 6th, the “Textile Vision” 2019 China National Textile and Apparel Council Science and Technology Education Awards Conference was held in Beijing. The conference commended the “Textile Vision” 2019 China National Textile and Apparel Council Science and Technology Award, Education and Teaching Achievement Award, Teacher Award, Student Award, Knitted Underwear Innovation Contribution Award and other awards. Among them, the Science and Technology Award were awarded for 86 projects in total, 2 first prizes and 4 second prizes of Technological Invention Award, 15 first prizes and 62 second prizes of Science and Technology Progress Award; 4 Special Contribution Award (Sangma Scholar): Professor Chen Wenxing of Zhejiang Sci-Tech University, Wang Huaping, researcher of Donghua University, Professor Wang Rui of Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology, and Zhang Guoliang, professor-level senior engineer of Zhongfu Shenying Carbon Fiber Co., Ltd.
 
It is worth noting that the proportion of awards for science and technology awards in 2019 has been significantly reduced to only 48%, which is lower than 60% in previous years, and the gold content has increased significantly.
 
2. The key technology of Zhongfu Shenying T1000 grade ultra-high-strength carbon fiber engineering passed the identification.
On October 29th, the “QZ6026 (T1000 grade) ultra-high-strength carbon fiber 100-ton engineering key technology” project scientific and technological achievement appraisal meeting was held in Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province. The project was led by Zhongfu Shenying, which was jointly undertaken by Donghua University and Jiangsu Xinyingyou Textile Machinery Co., Ltd. The appraisal committee composed of academicians from the Chinese Academy of Engineering Sun Jinliang, Jiang Shicheng, and Beijing University of Chemical Technology Professor Liu Jie believes that the overall technology of T1000-class ultra-high-strength carbon fiber has reached the international advanced level, and proposes to further develop the market and speed up the market promotion and application.
 
Since Zhongfu Shenying achieved large-scale production of T700 and T800 carbon fibers and won the first prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award, it took 2 years to optimize the system of T800 carbon fiber preparation process and take the lead in achieving the engineering of dry jet wet spinning T1000 grade ultra-high strength carbon fiber in China, which is of great significance to improve the overall technical level of China’s carbon fiber industry.
 
3. “Key technologies for intelligent production of knitting digital workshop and its industrialization” passed the scientific and technological achievements appraisal.
On May 31st, entrusted by China National Textile and Apparel Council, China Textile Machinery Association hosted a scientific and technological achievement appraisal meeting on “Key technologies for intelligent production of knitting digital workshop and its industrialization” completed by Zhejiang Sci-Tech University in Beijing.
 
“Key technologies for intelligent production of knitting digital workshop and its industrialization” project proposed in-situ method for controlling a drive to perform one of the knitting machine, developed an integrated knitting machinery intelligent control, communications networking standardization, knitting workshop intelligent digital information management control network management system platform, to achieve a rapid response to various kinds of knitted digital plant; established knitting machinery information model based on industrial Internet of things communication specification OPC UA, realized the reading and writing of knitting machinery from physical model to information model, and broke through the real-time exchange of production data.  
 
4. Sanlian Hope and Huawei Cloud released the first “chemical fiber industry intelligent solution” in China.
In October 2019, Sanlian Hope, in conjunction with TMT and Huawei Cloud, released the “chemical fiber industry intelligent solution v1.0”, which is mainly aimed at the lack of predictive ability in the chemical fiber production process and the difficulty of manual sampling inspection. To build a predictable digital infrastructure to support the rapid development of the future chemical fiber industry. This release marks that chemical fiber manufacturing has entered the era of machine intelligence. It is an important practice for the new generation of information and communication technology and artificial intelligence technology to integrate into the industry’s core equipment and production lines through the industrial Internet “end-edge-cloud” collaborative computing model, and promotes the intelligent upgrade of the chemical fiber industry.
 
5. 2019 China Textile Military-civilian Dual-Use Technology Development Conference (the 309th China Engineering Science and Technology Forum) was held.
On December 20th, 2019 China Textile Military-civilian Dual-Use Technology Development Conference (the 309th China Engineering Science and Technology Forum) was held in Beijing. The conference was hosted by Chinese Academy of Engineering and China National Textile and Apparel Council. At the conference, the “2019 China Textile Industry Military-civilian Dual-use Technology and Product Catalog” and “2019 China National Textile and Apparel Council Textile Industry Military-civilian Dual-Use Technology Innovation Achievement” were released. The catalogue will be regularly updated and distributed to national ministries and commissions, quartermaster units, military industrial enterprises and key enterprises in the industry. It will play an important role in promoting the dual-use textile technology, product innovation and industrial chain collaboration, promoting the development of advanced textile technology and product service defense army, and promoting the high-quality development of the textile industry.
 




Green
 
6. “China Chemical Fibers Association - Dongjin Green Fiber Promotion Fund” was established.
On March 11th, 2019, at the fifth council of the sixth session of the China Chemical Fibers Association, the China Chemical Fibers Association and Anhui Dongjin Renewable Resource Technology Co., Ltd. jointly launched and established the “China Chemical Fibers Association - Dongjin Green Fiber Promotion Fund”, which was established by the donation of Anhui Dongjin, with a total fund of 12 million yuan. The nature of the fund is an industry public welfare fund. The establishment of the fund aims to further increase the promotion of green fiber certification, promote the green process of the chemical fiber industry, increase the credibility and social recognition of green fiber certification in the chemical fiber industry, and accelerate the transmission of green fibers to downstream textiles.
 
7. The “3-year Action Plan for Green Fiber Certification (2020 - 2022)” was released.
On June 21, China Chemical Fibers Association issued the “3-year Action Plan for Green Fiber Certification (2020 - 2022)”, which clarified the overall goals and 7 main tasks of green fiber certification in the next 3 years. Beginning in 2016, advised by Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, China Chemical Fibers Association started the green fiber certification (“GF certification”). There are currently 27 certified companies covering certified polyester, dope-dyed nylon, polyester, polypropylene, aramid, polyimide fiber, etc. In the next three years, by continuously increasing the promotion of GF certification, more than 100 chemical fiber companies will meet the requirements of GF certification and pass the certification.
 
8. “Chinese Textile Ecological Civilization Promotion” into Henan Zhongda and Hebei Xingtai smart indigo liquid production demonstration plants.
From November 18th to 21st, 2019, the “China Textile Ecological Civilization Promotion” sponsored by Environmental Protection and Resource Conservation Promotion Committee of China National Textile and Apparel Council entered Henan Zhongda and Hebei Xingtai demonstration plant of intelligent indigo liquid production. This is the first time that “China Textile Ecological Civilization Promotion” has tried to introduce advanced green technology. Since 2015, “China Textile Ecological Civilization Promotion” has entered Pacific Textiles, Wansli, Challenge, Jiangsu Dongdu Textile Group, and Hubei Huangmei, etc., which has played a positive role in further improving the industry’s awareness of green development and accelerating the implementation of green transformation of production process.
 
9. Uniform standards for the design of lyocell fiber factories
Lyocell fiber is known as the “green fiber of the 21st century”, and it is a bio-based product that has been planned and developed during the “Twelfth Five-Year” and “Thirteenth Five-Year” period of China’s chemical fiber industry. In 2018, less than 300,000 tons of lyocell fibers worldwide, and China has only achieved localization in the past two years. The design requirements of lyocell fiber project are high and the design is difficult. China National Textile and Apparel Council entrusted China Textile Academy with the task of editing its engineering construction group standards, China Textile Academy is also the first enterprise to realize the localization of lyocell from equipment to technology. It is planned to build 500,000 tons of production capacity in 2021.
 
10. China’s fashion industry climate action delegation attracts high attention of COP25.
On December 12th, Sun Ruizhe, the president of China National Textile and Apparel Council (CNTAC), led a total of 16 Chinese fashion industry climate action delegations (representing all stakeholders in the industry chain) to Madrid, Spain, to participate in the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Twenty-Fifth Conference of the Parties (COP25). The delegation fully demonstrated the climate leadership of China’s textile and apparel industry to the world in terms of climate innovation, climate empowerment, climate youth, sustainable fashion, sustainable consumption and other areas of practical innovation, as well as participation in the governance of global climate. Sun Ruizhe emphasized on the COP25 Chinese Enterprise Day that the challenge of responsibility for climate change and environmental pollution has no regional distinction, industry distinction, or country distinction. Cooperation is no longer an option but an inevitable one.
 




Fashion
 
11. Ruyi Group acquires Lycra
On January 31st, Shandong Ruyi Group announced that it has completed the M&A of the apparel and advanced fabrics business of Invista, including the world-renowned Lycra brand. Invista is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of chemical intermediates, polymers, and fibers. It specializes in R & D and production of nylon, spandex, polyester fibers and special materials. Its products are widely used in clothing, carpets, and automotive airbags and other daily necessities. After the transaction is completed, the new company will be named Lycra Group of the United States. Ruyi Group will become the controlling shareholder of Lycra Group and will operate as an independent subsidiary.
 
12. Consinee’s first show at the Italian Pitti Immagine Filati
From January 23rd to 25th, 2019, Florence, Italy, Consinee Group was invited to participate in the Pitti Immagine Filati for the first time. This is the first time that Chinese companies have participated in the exhibition, breaking the history of no Chinese companies in the past 100 years, and also marking the first appearance of Asian companies in the Pitti Immagine Filati, which has become an important milestone in the development history of the woolen industry in China and even Asia!
 
13. “China Textile City Cup” 2019 Global Fashion Design Elite Challenge was successfully held.
“China Textile City Cup” 2019 Global Fashion Design Elite Challenge is advised by China National Textile and Apparel Council, sponsored by People’s Government of Keqiao District, Shaoxing City, Zhejiang Province, and jointly organized by Construction Management Committee of China Textile City, Keqiao District, Shaoxing City, China Textile Magazine. The theme of this competition is “Fashion Transformation”. As a brand-new professional and creative event, the “China Textile City Cup” 2019 Global Fashion Design Elite Challenge is different from other traditional events since its inception. It pays more attention to the coordinated development of local industry and international fashion trends, and the integration and symbiosis of fashion industry and supply chain. To this end, since its inception, the competition has been directed to invite high-end global design talent. After inspiring competition, Chen Jing from China won the gold award, Jadeine Sotiana Whiteside from Fiji and Jin Yongxuan from China won the silver award; Chiara Rossi from Italy, Porramace Poglarpprasert from Thailand, and Yu Chenqi from China won the bronze award.
 
14. China’s growth garment brands witness 10-year great transformation
On December 7th, “Fearless • Z-era” — the 10th Anniversary Conference of 2010 - 2019 Growth Brands of China Garments was held in Guangzhou, at which the Report on 2009 - 2019 China’s Growth Garment Brands was released, and 10-year changes in China garment brand incubation base and growth brands of China garment were sorted out and summarized. Xia Lingmin, Vice President of China National Textile and Apparel Council, stressed that from a new historical perspective, enterprises should actively promote digital restructuring of production mode and operating management process while building brand images; and in brands building, more attention should be paid to promote excellent traditional culture of China so as to realize culture self-confidence and brand self-confidence, which will be the only way for the industry to further integrate into the global market and achieve high-quality development.
 
15. China Fashion Award first launched China Fashion Technology Award
On May 13th, “Fang Sheng • 2019 China Fashion Technology Award Selection” was officially started in Beijing. This was the first Chinese Fashion Technology Award sponsored by Beijing Fang Sheng Fashion Technology Group, which arouse widely concerns in fashion industry. On October 25th, during the China Fashion Week, 10 technical experts who passed the preliminary evaluation, re-evaluation and 3-day on-site competition finally won the awards, which made those practitioners who had been working silently behind the industry gained more social recognition.
