China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Textiles and Apparel announced on October 8 that the “National Textile and Apparel Export Express Report for October 2019” stated that in October, driven by textiles, China’s overall export of textile and apparel resumed growth.

Since 2019, the lack of momentum in international market demand, intensified protectionism, and increasingly fierce competition in the global market have led to increased pressure on China’s textile and apparel exports.

In October, China’s textile and apparel exports were 161.55 billion yuan in RMB terms, a year-on-year increase of 1.2%. Among them, textile exports were 71.73 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 7.3%; apparel exports were 89.82 billion yuan, a 3.2% year-on-year decrease.

Industry experts said that the current Chinese textile and apparel industry is actively advancing its global strategic layout, seeking global value chain depressions, and adapting to the new changes in international market order demand. It has gradually emerged as a new attitude of organizer and manager in the global production supply chain.
