Since the beginning of this year, Nanchong’s silk spinning industry has focused on promoting the resumption of production of industrial enterprises, accelerated the construction of industrial projects, and the silk spinning industry’s economy has shown a steady recovery. According to statistics, 16 major silk spinning apparel industry projects have been implemented this year. From January to September, the output value of the silk spinning apparel industry reached 39.9 billion yuan.

This year, Nanchong has implemented 16 major silk spinning and apparel industry projects, including 5 new projects and 11 continued projects, with a total investment of 8.786 billion yuan and an annual planned investment of 2.661 billion yuan; relying on leading enterprises to comprehensively promote the construction of sericulture bases. From January to September this year, 31,000 mu of sericulture bases were newly built (reformed and expanded), 180 new business entities were cultivated, 13 million kilograms of silkworm cocoons were produced, the output value of silkworm cocoons was 460 million yuan, and more than 6,000 tons of mulberry fruit and more than 400 tons mulberry leaf tea (powder) were produced; successively organized 13 silk spinning apparel enterprises to participate in the “Suzhou Silk 2020” exhibition and the “2020 Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles (Spring) - China Silk Exhibition”; formulated and issued the “Working Plan for Investment Promotion in the Textile and Apparel Industry”, successively negotiated intentions with many companies in Chongqing.
