According to the International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC) in its October report, China will lead the global cotton consumption in 2020/21, with consumption expected to reach 7.8 million tons, equivalent to 30% of the global total. India’s cotton consumption is expected to reach 5.1 million tons, which means that China and India account for half of the global cotton consumption.
