Sun Ruizhe met with Andrew McDonald, Senior Advisor of Brazilian Cotton Industry Association and Chairman of the ITMF Spinning Committee

On September 9, Sun Ruizhe, President of CNTAC and Vice President of ITMF, met in Beijing and hosted Andrew McDonald, Senior Adviser of Brazilian Cotton Industry Association and Chairman of ITMF Spinning Committee, who visited China with the ABRAPA delegation.



 
 
Affected by Sino-US trade frictions, Brazilian cotton exports to China increased significantly, accounting for 24% of all cotton importing countries, ranking second. On September 5 - 11, the Brazilian Cotton Industry Association delegation visited cotton provinces such as Zhejiang and Shandong to further promote cooperation between China and Brazil in the field of cotton trade. During the meeting, Sun Ruizhe briefed on the current industry situation and briefly reviewed the recent close contacts between the two sides in the textile field. Sun Ruizhe said that the textile industry of the two countries will continue to deepen cooperation in trade, investment and other fields, and jointly promote the all-round cooperation and development.
 
MacDonald agreed with Sun Ruizhe’s opinion and said that they attach great importance to cooperation with China’s textile industry and is willing to further strengthen exchanges and work hard to push the cooperation between the two sides to a new level.
 
During the talks, the two sides also exchanged views on the next step of ITMF work and reached broad consensus.
