According to statistics from the General Administration of Customs, from January to August this year, the national textile and apparel exports amounted to USD 198.47 billion, up 6.0 percent year-on-year (down 2.4 percent year-on-year in RMB). Among them, textile exports amounted to USD 92.77 billion, down 11.4 percent year-on-year (down 18.4 percent year-on-year in RMB); apparel exports amounted to USD 105.69 billion, up 28.1 percent year-on-year (up 17.9 percent year-on-year in RMB).
In August, China’s textile and apparel exports to the world were USD 30.12 billion, down 2.5 percent year-on-year (down 10.1 percent year-on-year in RMB), the decline picked up 7 percentage points from the previous month. Among them, textile exports reached us USD 12.52 billion, down 14.8 percent year-on-year (down 21.5 percent year-on-year in RMB), up 7.1 percent month on month; apparel exports were USD 17.6 billion, up 8.7 percent year-on-year (up 0.1 percent year-on-year in RMB), up 6.2 percent month on month.
