Japan’s exports to China increase year-on-year for 13 consecutive months

Japan’s exports grew 37 percent in July, driven by demand from China, the United States and other overseas markets, according to preliminary statistics released by the Ministry of Finance of Japan on the 18th.

Japan’s exports in automobiles, steel, auto parts and other sectors surged year-on-year to 7.36 trillion yen in July, the fifth consecutive month of year-on-year growth, thanks to strong economic recovery and strong demand in major export markets such as China, the report said.
 
In terms of countries and regions, Japan’s exports to China increased 18.9 percent year-on-year to 1.58 trillion yen in the month, with significant growth in plastics, semiconductor manufacturing equipment and semiconductor components. As of July, Japanese exports to China have increased year-on-year for 13 consecutive months. China continues to be Japan’s largest export market.
 
In addition, Japan’s exports to the United States increased by 26.8 percent year-on-year to 1.38 trillion yen in the same month, and exports to the European Union increased by 46.1 percent to 640 billion yen, both of which increased year-on-year for five consecutive months.
