Guangzhou Garment and Adornment Industry Chamber of Commerce and Guangdong Fashion Designers Association recently released the economic operation of Guangdong apparel industry from January to June 2021.

 

In terms of production, according to the data of Guangdong Provincial Bureau of Statistics, from January to June 2021, enterprises above designated size completed the output of 1.895 billion pieces of clothing products, up 22.3 percent year-on-year; the total amount of finished clothing products reached 17.232 billion yuan, down 4.8 percent year-on-year; industrial sales output value accumulated 121.309 billion yuan, up 16.2 percent year-on-year; the industrial value-added was 28.998 billion yuan, up 18.3 percent year-on-year.

 

In terms of export, according to the statistics of Garment Branch of China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Textiles, from January to June 2021, Guangdong Province’s total export of clothing and clothing accessories is USD 15 billion, with a year-on-year growth of 73.2 percent, contributing 30 percent to the national export growth, and 17.4 percent higher than that of the same period in 2019.

 

In terms of benefits, according to the Statistics Bureau of Guangdong Province, from January to June 2021, the main business income of apparel enterprises above designated size in Guangdong was 119.92 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 15.4 percent; the total profit was 3.387 billion yuan, up 11.4 percent year-on-year.
