India’s exports to Latin America amounted to USD 12.74 billion in 2020-21 (April-March), according to the figures released by the Commerce Ministry of India. The exports to the region have declined marginally by 3.3 percent from USD 13.18 billion in 2019-20. This is not bad in view of the fact that India’s total global exports have declined by 7 percent from USD 313 billion to USD 291 billion in the same period.
Brazil continued as the number 1 destination of India’s exports to the region, with shipments valued at USD 4.25 billion.
The other major destinations were:
· Mexico: USD 3.08 billion
· Colombia: USD 865 million
· Chile: USD 805 million
· Peru: USD 765 million
· Argentina: USD 688 million
· Venezuela: USD 557 million
Exports to Mercosur were valued at USD 5,199 million, Pacific Alliance USD 5,522 million and CAFTA (Central America + DR) at USD 1,143 million.

· Chemicals: USD 2,534 million
· Pharma: USD 1,196 million
· Machinery: USD 1,152 million
· Diesel: USD 1,034 million
· Textiles: USD 704 million
· Cotton: USD 417 million
· Plastics: USD 421 million
· Iron and steel: USD 599 million
· Aluminium products: USD 393 million
· Rubber products: USD 254 million
