Promoting the high-quality development of the textile industry in the Greater Bay Area

On November 18th, the Academy of Greater Bay Area Studies of China Textile Planning Institute of Construction Inaugural Meeting and the 2019 China Textile Planning Institute of Construction Branch Working Conference was held in Guangzhou. The Academy of Greater Bay Area Studies of China Textile Planning Institute of Construction, was jointly organized by China Textile Planning Institute of Construction and Guangdong Association of Garment and Garment Article Industry, officially unveiled. The two sides will carry out research on the clothing industry in the Greater Bay Area and establish a clothing industry database in the Greater Bay Area to help promote the high-quality development of the textile industry in the Greater Bay Area.
Feng Dehu, dean of China Textile Planning Institute of Construction, said in his speech that the Greater Bay Area is one of the regions with the highest degree of openness, the strongest economic vitality, the gathering of innovative elements and the leading level of internationalization. It is fully and accurately implementing the principle of “one country, two systems”. It plays an important role in promoting the implementation of the National “Belt and Road” initiative. Guangdong is the leader in China’s apparel fashion industry. Since 2019, affected by trade conflicts and other factors, the world economic growth has slowed down, the international division of labor has continued to differentiate and refine, and industry development and business operations are facing greater pressure and challenges.
In order to better serve the development of the Greater Bay Area’s industry and enterprises, and to give full play to the respective advantages of Guangdong Association of Garment and Garment Article Industry and China Textile Planning Institute of Construction, it was decided to jointly establish the Academy of Greater Bay Area Studies of China Textile Planning Institute of Construction. The two sides are closely grasping the implementation opportunities of the national strategy, timely adjusting the development layout, realizing resource sharing, complementing the advantages, achieving win-win development, and promoting the high-quality development of China’s textile industry.
Xia Lingmin, vice president of China National Textile and Apparel Council, Feng Dehu, dean of China Textile Planning Institute of Construction, and Bu Xiaoqiang, president of Guangdong Association of Garment and Garment Article Industry, jointly unveiled the “The Academy of Greater Bay Area Studies of China Textile Planning Institute of Construction”, marking the Academy of Greater Bay Area Studies of China Textile Planning Institute of Construction was officially established.
